PETER MAX (1937 - 2026)
Statue of Liberty Master Proof Sheet (Unique 1/1), 1981.
Continuous six-panel offset lithograph layout on paper, custom-matted in its original 1980s chrome gallery frame
measuring 16.5 x 30.5 inches

This rare composite brings together all six portrait variants commissioned by First Lady Nancy Reagan for the historic 1981 Fourth of July celebration. Features dual signatures: the artist’s printed signature and commemorative "July 4, 1981 White House" inscription inside the right matrix panel alongside a large, prominent hand-signed marker signature and date reading "Max 1986" stretching across the lower panels.

Provenance
Personally gifted by Peter Max to prominent New York and Los Angeles socialite, fashion designer, and television host Nikki Haskell. The upper left quadrants bear a bold, hand-written dedication in black marker scrawled directly across the panels by the artist, reading "for Nikki love"
